I had books. Perhaps a thousand or two thousand books. At the time we were most acquainted with each other we both had perhaps a more or less equal number of books.
But I moved and left allĀ my books behind, simply because in flying out of the country books are too heavy. Peter on the other hand made a business of collecting and selling books. As much I suspect for the pleasure of owning as well as the good income he made from it.
Peter became a collector of books, music, albums, art. In his final years Peter’s collection was far more massive than mine had ever been.
